Channels
WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger
Connect your WhatsApp Business number, Instagram professional account and Facebook page to ClickFix by signing in with Meta.
The WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger channels run on Meta's official APIs. You don't create an app or copy tokens: you sign in with your Meta account, grant access, and ClickFix sets up the rest.
If these channels can't be selected yet, they open once ClickFix's Meta app review is complete. The screen tells you when this is the case.
Before you start
- You'll sign in with a Facebook account that manages the assets you want to connect.
- WhatsApp needs a Meta business account and a phone number that can be registered with WhatsApp Business. If the number is currently used in the WhatsApp Business app, check Meta's number migration rules.
- Instagram needs a professional account (business or creator).
- Messenger needs a Facebook page you manage.
- Choose Channels → Add channel → WhatsApp.
- Click Connect WhatsApp with Meta.
- In the Meta window, pick your business, WhatsApp Business account and number, and approve the permissions.
- When the window closes the channel is connected and incoming messages start arriving.
You can connect several numbers; each number is its own channel.
The 24-hour rule and templates
On WhatsApp you can reply freely within 24 hours of the customer's last message. After that, you need a Meta-approved template to restart the conversation.
Manage templates from the channel's Templates menu:
- Click New template and enter a name, category (Utility, Marketing or Authentication), language and body.
- Write variables as
{{1}},{{2}}and give an example for each. - Click Submit for approval. The template can be used once Meta approves it.
- Choose Channels → Add channel → Instagram and click Connect with Meta.
- You're redirected to Instagram; sign in and grant access.
- You come back to ClickFix and the channel is connected.
The inbox receives:
- Direct messages (DMs), story replies and story mentions.
- Post comments: each top-level comment opens its own conversation; your reply is posted publicly under the comment.
- Mentions of your account in comments on other posts.
Messenger
- Choose Channels → Add channel → Messenger and click Connect with Meta.
- You're redirected to Facebook; sign in and approve the permissions.
- Pick your page from Pick the page to connect.
If more than 24 hours have passed since the customer's last Messenger message, ClickFix sends your reply with Meta's human agent tag, which extends the reply window to 7 days.
Health and reconnecting
The Channels page shows the token expiry and send failures. If you changed your Facebook password, removed the app's access or the token expired, the channel is marked Needs reconnect. Use Reconnect from the channel menu to repeat the sign-in steps.
Disconnecting and data deletion
When you disconnect the channel, ClickFix deletes the access credentials it stored for that account and stops receiving messages. Existing conversations are kept.
Removing the app's access from your Facebook or Instagram settings also closes the related connections. For data deletion requests and the process, see the account and data deletion page.
