SSO and SCIM
Let your team sign in with your identity provider (Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace) over OIDC or SAML, and provision users automatically with SCIM.
With single sign-on (SSO) your team signs in to ClickFix through your own identity provider (IdP). With SCIM 2.0, users and groups are created, updated and deactivated automatically from your identity provider.
SSO, SCIM and IP restrictions are Enterprise plan features. The settings are under Organization → Security.
How it works
- To sign in with SSO, a user must already be provisioned through SCIM and active. ClickFix never links users automatically by email address alone.
- The SCIM
externalIdmust equal the OIDCsubor the SAMLNameID. Use a stable, immutable identifier. - An SSO session is valid only for that organization. When it expires, users sign in again through the identity provider.
1. Configure SSO
Under Organization → Security → Single sign-on (SSO), choose a Protocol.
OIDC
- Create an OIDC application (authorization code flow) in your identity provider.
- Add the Redirect URI shown in ClickFix to your IdP application.
- Enter in ClickFix: Issuer, Client ID, Client secret, Authorization URL, Token URL and JWKS URL. All URLs must use
https://. - Tick SSO enabled and save.
ClickFix uses PKCE (S256) and validates the ID token's RS256 signature, issuer, audience and expiry. The client secret is stored encrypted and never shown again; leave the field empty to keep the stored value.
SAML
- Create a SAML application in your identity provider using the ACS URL (Assertion Consumer Service) and SP Entity ID / metadata URL shown in ClickFix.
- Paste your IdP's metadata XML into ClickFix or pick it with Upload XML file (up to 1 MB).
- Tick SSO enabled and save.
For SAML:
- The IdP must send signed, unencrypted assertions. Encrypted assertions are not supported.
- Sign-in always starts from ClickFix. IdP-initiated sign-ins are rejected.
2. Provision users with SCIM
- After saving the SSO configuration, click Create / rotate token under SCIM provisioning.
- Enter the SCIM base URL and SCIM token shown into your identity provider's SCIM / provisioning settings. The token is shown only once.
- Assign users and groups to the ClickFix application in your IdP.
Creating a new token invalidates the old one immediately; update your IdP when you do.
Supported SCIM operations
| Resource | Operations |
|---|---|
| Users | Paged list, GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE. userName and externalId equality filters |
| Groups | Paged list, GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE. displayName and externalId equality filters, adding and removing members with PATCH |
Not supported: Bulk operations, password changes, sorting, ETags and other filter expressions (they return 400). SCIM requests are limited to 120 per minute per organization.
Notes:
- Deactivating or deleting a user removes their membership in this organization and their team memberships; the ClickFix account itself isn't deleted.
- To prevent lockouts, members with the owner or admin role can't be removed through SCIM.
- Groups map to teams in ClickFix. A group PUT replaces the member list entirely.
3. Test sign-in
- Click Test sign-in. You're sent to your identity provider and sign in.
- If the response is valid and a matching SCIM-provisioned user is found, you see a success message.
If the test fails, check the issuer, client details, metadata and the user's SCIM record.
Share the Sign-in link for members with your team; it starts your organization's SSO sign-in directly.
4. Enforce SSO
With Require SSO on, only SSO sessions can access the organization; members who signed in with a password are blocked.
- Enforcement can only be turned on from an SSO-verified session. Verify your session with Test sign-in first.
- Before turning it on, make sure admins can sign in with SSO. A broken SSO configuration can lock your team out.
IP restrictions
Under IP restrictions you can limit access to the organization to specific IP addresses or CIDR blocks (e.g. 203.0.113.0/24). An empty list means no restriction; up to 100 rules are allowed.
The restriction applies to every request, including the API and the mobile app. ClickFix won't let you save a list that doesn't contain your current IP; add it with Add my IP.
