Channels

Telegram

Create a Telegram bot with BotFather, enter its token in ClickFix and answer messages sent to the bot from your inbox.

The Telegram channel brings messages sent to your own Telegram bot into the inbox. Each channel is one bot, and a bot can be connected to only one channel.

Create a bot

  1. Open a chat with @BotFather in Telegram.
  2. Send /newbot, then give your bot a name and a username ending in bot.
  3. Copy the bot token BotFather gives you.

Connect to ClickFix

  1. Choose Channels → Add channel → Telegram.
  2. Paste the token into Bot token and click Connect.

ClickFix validates the token and sets up the Telegram webhook automatically. Nothing else to configure.

How it works

  • Private chats: each person who messages the bot gets their own conversation.
  • Groups: if you add the bot to a group, only messages addressed to the bot are received: messages mentioning the bot's @username, /command@botname commands and replies to the bot's messages. The conversation is the group itself, and the author's name is shown on each message.

Changing the token

If you regenerated the token in BotFather, enter the new token in the channel settings and reconnect the channel. The webhook tied to the old token stops working.
